Never Stop Dreaming

Hi everyone! Melissa Larson here with my first page of the month for Shimmerz Paints!  I love the quality of these paints, I feel I can really express my love of nature with them.

To briefly describe how I made this page, I put texture paste on with a stencil, then mounted the photo on watercolor paper. I cut up chipboard and die cuts and glued them all around the pic. I put the flowers and some of the embellies on, then started painting. There are a lot of layers of Shimmerz and Inklingz. The gold is mica powder.

Here's a list of the colors I used:

Thanks so much for looking, and have a great week!

"Dream Big" Scrapbooking Layout | Simone Schermann

Hello Shimmerz Fans. Guess what?! I finally had the courage to create a 12x12 paper full of texture and color that I then used to create a scrapbooking layout. I prepared my white cardstock with gesso first and then pulled out some stencils and Pasteez, Dazzlerz, different sprays as well as Creameez and Shimmerz, in short I grabbed my whole arsenal of ShimmerzPaints products. Then I chose a color palette as you can see from the photo it was very green heavy palette and just started. In the video that is linked below you can see the whole process, but it can be summarized as: I added color and water here and there until I felt I had a nice balance and then let it dry.

I came back the next day with some scrapbooking supplies, a photo and a punch. I punched out lots of squares from my paper and then started to arrange them in a pattern on a white background paper. I quickly realized that there are endless possibilities so I decided to go with the first one that I liked. I can see a series of layouts in my future that explores all the different options. Or at least some of them.

As you can see from the two closeup shots above, no two squares look the same, they all look like they belong together but each one is unique. I love the sparkly texture from the Dazzlers and I was absolutely amazed at the intensity of the Shimmerz, I definitely need to stock up on more colors. Did you see that there was a new release of six Spring colors? You can find them here.

After I had designed my background with the squares and stitched them onto the paper, I then went on to create a layout. I had so much fun mixing and matching papers and embellishments from so many different manufacturers.

"For You" Card Using Shimmerz Paints | Nicole Kerr

Hello Shimmerz Fans!

Nicole here and today I have a gorgeous card to share with you!
I have been recently playing with some new Shimmerz and Blingz paints that I received and was inspired by flower ephemera from Maggie Holmes that I recently received in a subscription kit!
Here's a look at my final card:

I began with a piece of white watercolor paper and used Shimmerz Paintz colors in Anchors Away and Sugar Plum.  I mixed the two of these paints together to create the color in the floral ephemera and matching strip of paper along the side of the card.  I applied two layers of this color, drying between. Once those were dry, I added splatters of the same color and also splatters of Blingz Gold Glimmer. Once all of those layers were completely dry, I added my leaf and floral ephemera, popping them on foam adhesive for added dimension. To finish the card off, I stamped my sentiment. Here are close ups of my final project:

The three Shimmerz paints that I used in today's project are:

Thanks so much for joining me today and DON'T FORGET! If you place an order over on the Shimmerz Shop, be sure to put my name in the comments section for a free-bee!

Have a great weekend!

Layout with NEW COLORS | Missy Whidden

Happy Thursday, friends!  Missy here, and I have a layout to share featuring three NEW Shimmerz colors.  I used a lot of Shimmerz products, but I included the new Lilac Blossom, It's Mint to Be and Limoncello paints as well.  I love creating my own color schemes on white cardstock.  I started by painting an entire sheet of it in stripes of color using those three colors as well as Creameez 1 Hot Mama, Vibez Jeni B Bleu, and Shimmerz Moulin Rouge.  I also added in bits of other colors which I will list below.

Once my paper was dry, I cut a bunch of different sized hearts using my Cameo.  I was inspired by a recent layout created by Paige Evans where she created a lot of stacked hearts.  I decided to stack a few of them and leave the rest of them to scatter around the page. I love how it turned out!

I didn't want to leave the background solid white, so I mixed in some of the same colors I used on the hearts.  I mixed them with white gesso and scraped it all over the paper to get lighter hints of the colors.  I wanted it to peek through all the hearts.  Look how shimmery these colors are!

I ran the stacks of hearts through my sewing machine to give them a finished and textured look.  I decided to vertically stack them so my photos could be tucked under them.  I pulled the purple color from my daughter's shirt.

I tucked in a bit of white tissue paper for a subtle border along with some tangled thread.  I scattered lots of sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps around the page.

Here on this stacked heart you can really see how pretty the three new colors are, and they work very well together.  I used some old Thickers for my title.

Here you can see the effect of mixing the paints with white gesso.  It does take out some of the shimmer, but that's okay.  I mainly wanted to have some subtle color back there to enhance the hearts and photos.  I also did a bit of splattering.

Here's a tip if you're going to stack your shapes like this:  only glue the center parts down.  Leave the edges along so you can flip or fold them up for dimension.

This was so much fun to create!  You can see that I hardly used any extra embellishments.  I felt like the hearts were enough to carry the page.  Sometimes you don't need a bunch of stickers or chipboard.  Just create lots of pretty shapes with your Shimmerz and you will be set :)

Stamping with Shimmerz Paints Stampz | Brianna Lepper

Hey y'all!  Brianna here and I'm back with a different project for you today!  Instead of my usual 12x12 scrapbook layout, I'm sharing a card making process featuring the Lovely Balloons stamp set from Shimmerz as well as 3 of the newly released colors!  Not only did I make a card, but I made it a shaker card!  Who doesn't love shaker cards?

Here are all of the colors that I used to create this card!

Let me tell you this!!!  The 3 new colors, Limoncello, Lilac Blossom and It's Mint To Be are all so GORGEOUS!!!!  Major swoon!

When stamping the hot air balloon, I first created a mask for the basket so that when I stamped the flowers, they would appear to be sitting inside.  This is one of my favorite stamp sets and I love the variety of sentiments it comes with!  I stamped my selected sentiment on the banner, fussy cut it out and glued it to my hot air balloon.

To create the shaker element, I used a starburst die set and layered the smaller size inside the larger one.  This created a frame.  I traced and cut it out and then adhered that onto my frame, added some foam strips to create dimension, sprinkled in some SpiegelMom Scraps sequins and closed it up!  I love how it turned out!  For a more step by step process, check out my process video below!

Don't forget to mention my name in the comments section and they'll send a free gift with your order.  Thanks for stopping by and we will see you in the next one!
